大型ヤッコ飼育に必要な水槽サイズ

ウズマキが水槽にきて一週間が経過します。こちらは昨日の写真です。最近はメガバイトにも餌付きはじめていて、1週間前と比較すると体の色も一段と鮮やかになってきました。ただまだ用心深く、人影が水槽に近づくと水槽の裏に身を潜めてしまう事があります。体の渦模様はあいかわらず綺麗で、とても興味深いです。折角ウズマキの飼育を開始したので、大型ヤッコの飼育に必要な水槽サイズについて調べてみました。

大型ヤッコで幼魚から成魚となるにつれて、体の模様が変化する代表的な海水魚は、タテジマキンチャクダイ、フレンチエンゼル、アデヤッコ（ブルーフェイス）、マクロスス（イエローバンド）、キングエンゼル（パッサー）、クイーンエンゼルなどがあげられます。

これらヤッコの成魚を飼育するにあたり、どれほどの水槽サイズが適しているのかを雑誌やインターネットで調べてみたところ、120cmと記載されているのがほとんどでした。では、幼魚で飼育を開始して成魚になるまでにどれほどかかるのかを調べてみたところ、5,6cmの幼魚が、普通に餌を食べていると1年弱で倍のサイズになるらしく60cm規格水槽で飼育が可能なのはせいぜい2年程度のようです。

特にマクロスス、フレンチエンゼル、グレーエンゼルあたりは、成長が非常に早いようで、これらの種類を飼育する場合には、はじめから90cm規格以上の水槽で飼育を開始するのがベターなようです。

イナズマヤッコ、アズファー、ロックビューティーなどは、成魚サイズが比較的小さい種類で、これらの種類であれば90cm規格の水槽でも飼育が可能なようですが、いずれも性格が神経質なため、水槽で一番の立場にする必要があるそうです。
大型ヤッコは、上手に飼育をすると10年以上も生きる海水魚のようです。今の水槽、60cm規格ですが、ウズマキがこのまま成長したら倍の120cm規格水槽になってくるのでしょうか！？でも現在の水槽もだいぶ生体が詰まってきてしまいました。
